CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY FOR INFANTS & CHILDREN

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A SESSION

  • Gentle Touch: The therapist uses very light pressure (about 5 grams) to identify areas of restriction by monitoring the subtle "rhythms" of the body.

  • Infant-Led: Babies usually remain fully clothed and can be treated while lying on a table, being held by a parent, or even while nursing or sleeping.

  • Duration: Sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the infant's needs and tolerance.

  • Immediate Effects: Many infants find the process highly relaxing and may fall asleep during or shortly after the treatment.

COMMON CONDITIONS ADDRESSED

  • Feeding Difficulties: Helps improve poor latch, sucking reflexes, and swallow coordination.

  • Birth Trauma: Relieves physical strain and compression caused by long labors, C-sections, or the use of forceps and vacuums.

  • Oral Restrictions: Often used as support before and after tongue-tie or lip-tie releases (frenectomy) to relax oral tissues.

  • Physical Asymmetries: Addresses torticollis (stiff neck) and plagiocephaly (flat spots on the head).

  • Digestive & Sleep Issues: Can reduce symptoms of infant colic, reflux, and gassiness while promoting deeper relaxation for better sleep.
